My story is nothing special‌ Just want to live my life on my own term like everybody else. But our current society often stops us from doing so. For instance I want to get married to my partner with whom I have been living in with for the past four and half years, in the middle east. And as per social norms, we are just ‘room-mates’! We are planning to get married as well but again, due to the social norms, we are unable to do so!
We are planning to move to Canada in the near future. I will be going there first as a student and then would bring her there. Now for that we will have to prove we are partners! We tried to open a joint account but were unable to do so! We tried to put both out names in the house contract but again were unable to do so! So what do we do now? Staying separate till I finish my studies is just not an option for us!
